Patterson Reunion

In August we went to Rexburg, ID for David’s family reunion. We camped at a campground called Beaver Dick Park. Pretty funny huh? It was an interesting trip especially since I hate camping. I hate being dirty, not being able to shower, and not having the comforts of home. Tegan had a blast spending time with all his cousins. He played in the river and in the sand. He was in heaven. We had lots of fun canoeing up and down the river near the campground. We enjoyed spending time with all of David’s siblings and nieces and nephews. There sure are a lot of them.

We went on a canoe trip down the river with some of David’s siblings and nieces and nephews, and his uncle Clark. We went cause we were told it would take about an hour. Try 3 hours. (I guess they really didn’t know how long it would take, they just guessed) We were caught in freezing cold rain and storm while in our swimsuits. Luckily my brother-in-laws friend met us on the river with his motor boat and we all held on with all our canoes and went down the river. If he wouldn’t have come it would have taken us a lot longer to get down the river. We ended up having to park the canoes and camp on shore for awhile until the storm passed cause the waves were so big and we weren’t getting anywhere. I was so concerned about Tegan the whole time cause he was so cold. In the end it was a interesting story that we can share with the whole family. Not something I would ever want to go through again.

At the end of the reunion we ourselves went to Yellowstone since everyone had gone before we got there. Yellowstone was cool…not my favorite place on earth but it was interesting. Tegan didn’t really enjoy walking around looking at pots in the ground. But at least we can say that we went. Old Faithful wasn’t as great as I thought it would be. Not sure what I expected but it just wasn’t as grand as people made it sound.

We drove around about half of Yellowstone cause David wanted to see some Buffalo. We did see some. It was so crazy how close they get to your car. Freaked me out! On our way back to camp (about a 1 1/2 hours drive) while we were still in Yellowstone Tegan vomited in the car. Twice. Oh that was fun. We had to pull off the side of the road and get him cleaned up as much as we could. Luckily not much got in his car seat cause we had no way of cleaning it before we headed home the next day. We think he got a little car sick cause the next day he was perfectly fine.

The cousins all exchanged gifts since none of us would be together for Christmas. Tegan got a awesome animal book (which he LOVES) and a lizard shirt from his cousin Jenkin (right?)

Yes that is a pink stroller. We couldn’t fit our stroller in the car so we had to borrow the pink one from Tegan’s cousin.

This guy walked right onto the road and we couldn’t go anywhere for awhile.

I was really excited at the end of the trip to come home to a warm shower. I think I was in there for about 30 minutes. Best shower ever!
