Homemade Laundry Detergent
2 cups Fels Naptha Soap
1 cup Washing Soda
1 cup Borax
Shave the Fels Naptha with a cheese grater. I like to put it in a electric chopper after that and chop it up until it is very fine. It makes it a little easier if you add the Washing Soda and Borax in with it. Then mix everything together. I like to do 2 batches and put it in a pretty jar. Use 1-3 T per load.
That is all there is too it! I love the smell too! But if you do not like it you could also add essential oils to the detergent or just to the load of laundry. It is best to let the detergent sit in the water before you add the clothes so it dissolves a bit. The only place I could find Washing Soda is at Winco but you can find Fels Naptha and Borax at most grocery stores.
Let me know if you try it or have any questions :)
Question For ALL!!
Now the question is...Does anyone personally know anyone who sells? Of course a little income would be great but if it is very concentrated in my area then it may not be worth it. I don't know anyone of any friends that sell so I am wondering if any of you do.
I love the fact that I wouldn't have to do parties for say. I could but it's not necessary. I am really weary since I did sell Lia Sophia and that obviously didn't work out. I love the jewelry but couldn't book any parties so I could make money. This business is a little different cause it is something that you have to buy over and over again and it isn't expensive.
I would love to hear from all of you!
Thanks!

August-September Curse
Yes the title of this post is August-September Curse. Every year that we have been married something happens that causes us to be dirt poor and causes me a little stress. I was hoping we were clear of the curse since nothing had happened until the middle of the month.
It all started when David was fixing the tail light on my car (remember the car accident last December? we just now fixed the tail light). All that banging on the car caused the inertia switch to flip. I guess when it goes off so many times that it needs to be replaced. Well we thought it was the fuel pump, something serious so I am glad it wasn't that. We "only" had to pay $65 for the repair, which of course we didn't have.
That same day David realized that he lost his wallet. The only place it could be was Water Gardens theater since that was the last place we were. Monday night he ran over there hoping that they found it...nope. So I called and had a hold put on his card and ordered new ones. And of course 2 days later David went in there again and they found it. At least he didn't have to get a new license.
August is also the month that I have to get my car registered as well as Safety and Emissions. I am so thankful that I got a coupon in the mail to get it done at Low Book Sales for $5...that's right! (If anyone got one that they will not be using I would be more than happy to take it off your hands). Next month David's car will need to be done. I wish we would have planned this better so we don't have to do them right after the other especially David's car cost a lot more than mine does to register it. I really dislike how it needs to be done every year...such a waste of money. I got the safety and emissions done today and after 2 hours of waiting, a trip to Artic Circle and a toddler that was jumping off the walls they told me that it failed. WHAT?! Luckily it is nothing big. Only a brake and a parking light needs to be replaced, but I am wondering if it is bogus cause we have never noticed it. even when David was replacing the tail light. HMMM......So I get to go back when we fix it to sit another 2 hours (I sure do hope not) to get it checked out again. Oh Boy!
ALSO.....David just got the news that they are thinking of switching him back to the schedule that he was on previously. He has been working every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6am-6pm at IM Flash and on Mondays and Tuesdays he works for 8 hrs a day at Big 5. It has been working perfectly for us! We get to see David more often since he doesn't have to work nights. And it will be a lot easier for me to work a graveyard shift job (that is if I can find a job). It is something that we really need right now since finances are scarce. Plus this schedule makes it easier for David to go back to school soon. If he switches back to his previous schedule we will again never get to see him and I will mostly likely not be able to get a job.
We don't understand why they won't just leave him where he is...I have come to the conclusion that they are a bunch of idiots! They haven't given him a raise in about 1 1/2 years yet he is their best employee which is why they keep moving him around like they do. It doesn't make any sense to me. If they do give him a raise the other schedule would be ok but without it would simply not work.
In previous years we have been in car accidents in these months and have had other car problems. We just have terrible luck with cars.
We are hoping and praying that things work out for us soon. These trials and struggles sure are getting hard especially having them happen at about the same time every year. They sure have made us stronger though. I guess I need to look at the positive sides of things.
Please keep us in your prayers!
Pool Day
If you have not been to the Lindon Pool you must go. We love it! Especially Tegan. He loves the kiddie areas and the lazy river, which is pretty dang long.
On one of our trips to the pool Tegan pooped in his diaper. No big deal right? Wrong! He was the reason why they had to close the kiddie area for 30 min. So glad I was not with him there or I would have been mortified. Luckily David didn’t tell me he was the reason until later. Because of the small closure we had to go to a different kiddie area. When the Pirate Island opened again I told Tegan that he could go down the slide again. What did he do? He took off in a full on run through a crowd of people quite easily since he is small. He saw the slide in sight and instead of stopping when he came to the lazy river he jumped right in. Luckily I wasn’t too far behind and jumped in after him. One of the scariest times of my life. I saw him thrashing in the water for only a few minutes but that vision will stick with me for the rest of my life. Luckily he was just fine, it didn’t even phase him. I am so glad I was paying attention because the lifeguard sure wasn’t.

4th of July Weekend
We started out the weekend by going to the Provo Freedom Festival the Friday before the 4th to check out the free stuff that they had for kids. Tegan made a marbel art picture, his cool visor and got his face painted for the first time. He loved it!
On the 4th we did a last minute BBQ with our neighbors Mark and Kristie. They made a yummy potato and brat dutch oven dish and we made some grilled chicken. We decided to make some smores so here is Tegan helping daddy dig a very large hold for the fire. He was quite dirty by the end.
On Monday the day after the 4th Tegan decided that daddy needed socks on. So here he is trying to put his socks on him. It wasn’t working too well and he was getting really frustrated but he finally got them on his toes.
Monday night we went over to my parents for dinner and smores (its a tradition). My sister Kylie’s bf flew in that day so he joined us for the festivites.

I think Tegan approves of John…Kylie can only hope

Eclipse June 30th
I went to Eclipse with my friends Nina, Stefanie and her SIL Amber. I had a blast! We went to Pizza Factory for dinner (my fave place!) and we paid with our gc’s that we got from City Deals for a great deal. I bought a gc for So Cupcake on City Deals as well since it was a steal of a deal and they had Twilight themed cupcakes. Well it turned out that they close quite early :( So looks I like I will have to take a special trip up there soon so I can use it. So instead I got a Snickers Caramel apple at Rocky Mountain Chocolate since it was right next to our theater at the Gateway.
I loved Eclipse even more than New Moon, I didn’t even think it was possible. I can’t wait until Breaking Dawn!
Wood Reunion June 26th
David’s grandma Eunice that passed away in April was a Wood. So all her descendants held a reunion in Syracuse. There weren’t many people there and we didn’t know many of them but it was fun to meet new family members. They held some Minute To Win It games to earn money for future reunions which was fun. I am very good at the nut stack (is that what it’s called?). David (and Tegan) were great at the game where you knock over cans with rubber bands.

Splash Park June 25th
Highland City has a great Splash Park. Tegan LOVES it! Especially since he loves water. The great thing is….it’s totally free. We went with my friend Nina and her son Carson and my neighbor and her 2 kids Joseph and Ellie.
I’m ready mom!
