Tools and Strawberry Days

Tegan LOVES playing with his tools and fixing things. And he likes me to help.
We went to Strawberry Days (Pleasant Grove Days)!
Tegan had a blast riding the carnival rides.
Earlier that day we went to Huck Finn Days where they had a ton of activities for the kids to do. The lines were very long and very slow so we didn't stay long. But we did have fun with my friend Jacie and her daughter Chloe. I am sad I didn't get a picture with them. I did get one with her husband and mine with our kids but I somehow lost it.

Duck Pond and Bean Museum (June 1st)

Tegan and I went with my friend Tay and her son Sean to the Bean Museum. The museum wasn't open when we got there so we decided to go see the ducks at the duck pond. Those are some crazy ducks! I have never seen ducks get so close. They were literally eating bread out of the boys hands one even bit Sean's hand.
If you haven't been to the Bean Museum you totally should. It is totally free. I see myself taking a few times during the winter since he loved it. They have a lot of stuffed animals of all kinds. Tegan had a ton of fun just running around looking at every thing. Look Mom...there's a duck.
So excited!

The mean duck!

All the cute little ducklings

Sean and Tegan

I love how Tegan's stroller appears to be glowing.

Sean with his excited face LOL

Tegan was so confused. He couldn't understand why these ducks weren't moving.

Pretty sure he is picking his nose in this pic.

The cute boys

Not sure why this picture is turned. Tegan and Sean did this the majority of the time. I believe it had a pic of an animal on the top and then you lifted that board and it had a picture of where they lived...or something like that.

Tegan checking out all the shells. His nose was literally right against the glass

This was made of little butterflies. So pretty!

Picture turned again sorry. Tegan was standing on this ledge...

and Sean decided to join him.

Checking out the animals below.

Afterwards we headed to J-Dawgs on BYU campus. The best hot dogs ever! You have to try it out!

Chuck E. Cheese (May 31st)

We went to Chuck E. Cheese for Memorial Day since we didn't have anything planned. We had a lot of fun...Tegan was in heaven. He enjoyed running around on jumping on all the riding games and sticking tokens in every machine making us play them. He got a ball, crazy straw and of course cotton candy that we of course enjoyed. The driving games were his fave.

Tegan and I with our crazy faces eating the yums
David doesn't know how to make a pretty crazy face. LOL

Baby Kennedy (May 26th)

My friend Tessa had a beautiful baby girl, Kennedy in May. I was able to go visit them in the hospital. Seeing her makes my ovaries ache (LOL)

Crazy Teg (May 19th)

Oh the crazy things Tegan does... He fell asleep like this while taking a nap one day. Do you notice that his arm is entangled in it...and his head is all covered up. How he was able to breathe I don't know.
This was him trying to put on his pj's while he was "helping" me fold laundry

I don't understand how the pics ended up sideways.

Sunday Picnic (May 16th)

One Sunday I thought it would be fun to take a little picnic up the American Fork Canyon. I didn't know it was so expensive and so small. We won't be going back...we will just go up Provo next time...it's free! We of course still had fun though.

Bountiful Baskets

As some of you may have heard on facebook I love Bountiful Baskets! I heard about it from a friend who lives in SLC about this wonderful Co-Op. That is what it is, a Co-op. You can get tons of produce for $15. I have figured I can get the same amount for $30 or more. There are many states that provides this Co-op. They are in Idaho, Washington, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and Texas.

Bountiful Baskets is a volunteer run Food Co-Op. The get their food where restaurants get it so it is great quality food. Since they are cutting out the middle man it costs a lot less. They do ask that you do volunteer when you can so they can keep this program running.

I have been doing it for a few weeks and I LOVE it! We are saving so much money on produce.

This basket is from this week. I got
2 stalks of celery
2 small bunches of broccoli
1 cantaloupe
2 coconuts (anyone want them?)
9 bananas
grapes
5 tomatoes
7 apples
12 red potatoes
bunch of romaine lettuce
14 apricots
bunch of green beans
All for $15

Some weeks they have extra things like bread, tortillas, cakes, mexican packs or italian packs. And they also sometimes have cases of things like tomatoes, carrots or strawberries.

This week I got the Mexican pack it came with

green onions

cilantro

2 yellow onions

6 limes

2 garlic

4 avocados

12 jalapenos (some are huge!)

13 tomatillos

This all cost $7.50 This was my first basket from a few weeks ago.

Some may only have to buy baskets every other week. But I have chosen to buy every week and just eat more produce. Hopefully our bodies will reap the benefits. If only Tegan will be more adventurous lol

Now are you wondering how to get your basket?

You will want to go to the Bountiful Basket site and make an account. On Monday they will post what sites are available and how many are left. I suggest getting on Monday morning to see when they will be posting them. They can be gone very fast so I suggest getting on right after they post them. You never know what you are going to get in your baskets so no you can not chose what you get. I find it more fun this way and I have experimented with many fruits that I don't ever buy because of expensive prices at the grocery store.

You pick up your baskets on Saturday at the time that they have set up. You will have 20 minutes to pick up your basket or they will donate they food to local fire stations. If you can not pick it up you can give your receipt (confirmation) to a friend and they can get it for you.

You may want to take something to bring your produce home in. I take a laundry basket and it is full every time. And be prepared...it can be very heavy. I am trying to find some kind of cart so I can roll it around.

They also have a Facebook group. Join it! People post recipes. You can also get questions answered really fast on there. Make sure to read the Q&A page on Bountiful Baskets. It will answer any questions you may have. I would also love to answer any questions that you may have.

Have Fun!!

Grandma Eunice Patterson's Funeral

What a fun and interesting weekend this was. We left April 17th after David got off work, luckily he was able to get off a little early. I really didn't want to drive in the dark. Tegan did very well on the ride there and back. He only watched a little bit of a movie. He spent most of the time reading books with his Leapfrog Tag Jr. Best thing that I have ever bought him.
The next day Sunday, April 18th was my b-day and David let me sleep in while him and Tegan went to church with his brother's family. Best gift I got! His family did their best to make my b-day feel special by getting me a cake. Tegan of course was cranky that day due to not taking a nap. He did take a little cat nap at his brothers but it just wasn't enough.
Monday was Grandma's service. We got up that morning and got everything ready for us to leave right after the luncheon. As we pulled up for the last few minutes of the viewing before the funeral Tegan threw up all over himself and his car seat. Luckily that morning he didn't eat much (probably due to not feeling well) he just drank a lot of water. So we headed back to his brothers house to change Tegan's clothes and head back. He threw up again on our way back and I was able to catch it (as I was gagging the entire time). The service was beautiful and it was great to learn so much about Grandma. Tegan last about an hour and then we were out in the halls of the church. Tegan was so tired from lack of sleep and locked himself in a room (a room that is located in the same spot as the nursery room in our own church building) and fell asleep on the floor. He would not let me in the room, every time I would go in he would yell at my in his gibberish language to get out. We then headed to the cemetery for the burial. Tegan was a goofball the entire time. He enjoyed going up to all the graves and "read" the letters. He had a fun time running around with all his cousins that he only sees a few times per year. Afterwards we ate quickly at the luncheon and then headed home.
Every night for 3 nights after we returned home Tegan would throw up in the middle of the night. He acted totally fine during the day so we don't know what he had. I didn't like waking up to vomit all over him and then have to bathe him afterwards, but at least it was pretty much confined and not all over things that I would not be able to wash. LOVE this picture of my two favorite boys. Too bad David's tie is all weird.

The best family pic we could get with the tired and cranky Tegan.

It was great seeing so many members of David's family and meeting new ones. It sure was overwhelming...he has a very large family.
